So you can see that personalizing Windows 10 is not difficult at all, as many believe.
In fact it is very easy, thanks to the plethora of options the operating system offers. But what is the use of theming Windows 10, when you don’t have a good cursor to go with it? Are you bored with the default mouse cursor in Windows 10? Do you want to change it, but don’t know how to? You’ve come to the right place. There is a simple way to change the cursor in the operating system.
How to change the mouse cursor in Windows 10
1. Gnuplot. Click on the Start Menu and open the Settings app.
2. Select the “Devices” tab.
3. Observe the sidebar on the left, you will see many options. Choose the 4th option which says “Mouse” (Laptop users will see the Mouse & TouchPad option).
4. There are various options in the right pane of the window, but the one you want is actually at the end of the list. It is a text link called “Additional Mouse Options”. Select it.
5. A new window will open. Select the Pointers tab (it is the second tab).
6. Click on the drop down menu which says “scheme”. Select one of the available ones and then click on the apply button and then on ok.
Your new cursor scheme should be activated. You can customize your scheme too, i.e., select a different cursor for each function.
Microsoft does ship Windows 10 with a few themes pre-installed, and these have their own set of cursors. But none of them are good, or high-def. So you should consider using a custom cursor pack.
Oh, and the cursor theme I’m using is called Anathema Blue Cursor, and you can download it for free from DeviantArt (also available in more colors and even left handed ones).
A similar but more colorful theme is XsX – Alpha Blended Cursors. It is quite old, but is still one of the best cursors to have been made. You can find plenty more like these on DeviantArt including Mac OS X ElCapitan cursors, Game cursors, etc.
Tip: To install a cursor pack, unzip the archive to a folder, and right-click on the .INF file, and select install. Then follow the above steps to set it as your default pack.
